Aim Higher Foundation Awards Tuition Assistance Grants for 2015-2016
In the fall of 2015, the Aim Higher Foundation announced a total of $509,703 in tuition assistance grants to 76 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. The Aim Higher Foundation mailed student tuition assistance checks to schools, to the attention of the principal, following the annual Night of Light event on September 26, 2015.
The Aim Higher Foundation is continuing support to all students who received Aim Higher Foundation tuition assistance in 2014-2015 (Aim Higher Foundation Scholars) who remain in Catholic elementary school in 2015-2016 and have continued financial need.
The Foundation has specified that Aim Higher tuition assistance should be offered in increments not larger than $1,000 per student per year or 50% of yearly tuition paid, whichever is less. The grant is intended to supplement the student tuition assistance that a school is already providing and not serve as a replacement of existing school support. At the start of the 2015-2016 school year, school leaders submitted a profile of grant recipients and verified enrollment before grant checks were mailed.
The Aim Higher Foundation exists to help provide access to the life-changing experience of a Catholic school education to more families. The Foundation is reaching out for support to individuals, organizations and corporations who understand that educational achievement is critical to the future strength of our community. In addition to providing tuition assistance to Catholic school families, in the future the Foundation will foster continued excellence in leadership and innovation in education through grants to educators and schools in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis.
