Making Dreams Possible

Growing up a second-generation student at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School in Brooklyn Park, Alannah Moran always dreamed of sending her three daughters to the school to continue the legacy. Allanah’s mother attended the school. Alannah attended the school, and she also worked at the parish for many years. Alannah long hoped to give her children the same life-changing experience she so cherished.

“A Catholic education can make the biggest difference in their quality of education, the friendships they form, and the people they are surrounded by every day,” Alannah told us this summer.

Unfortunately, when it came time to enroll their children in the school last spring, Alannah and her husband, Ed, were not sure if they could make this dream a reality for their three daughters. The cost of tuition was too high. The dream was on hold.

Every year, families come to us seeking to remain fully in the school communities they love. They come to us seeking something better for their children than they can currently attain. They come to us seeking access to a better future found uniquely in the Catholic school experience. Every year, we hear stories like Allanah’s.

We will tell more of Allanah’s story in the weeks and months ahead, but know this: because of you, because of your support of the Aim Higher Foundation, we were able to award Allanah’s incoming Kindergartner a scholarship to attend St. Vincent de Paul this fall. Because of you, the family legacy continues.

As we turn the corner this summer, getting ready to welcome the 2,500+ scholars who will go to a Catholic school with an Aim Higher Scholarship, we invite you to continue to get behind our cause. When you receive an invitation to attend our Night of Light on October 12 or to make a gift in support of our mission, we invite you to think of the dreams you make possible—dreams like Alannah’s.

“My family never would have been able to keep this tradition alive without the help of the Aim Higher Foundation’s supporters,” Alannah told us. “I can’t wait to see how my daughters thrive academically, socially, and spiritually at St. Vincent de Paul, just like me and my mother, many years later.”
