February 3, 2022Donal L. Mulligan Elected Board Chair of the Aim Higher Foundation
The Aim Higher Foundation is pleased to announce that Donal L. Mulligan was elected as its new chair of the Board of Directors. Mulligan succeeds Sarah Schumacher, who served as chair for 2020 and 2021.
“Our sincere and utmost thanks go out to Sarah Schumacher for her service,” said Jean Houghton, President of the Aim Higher Foundation. “Through her tenure, Sarah helped guide our mission into a new era as we grew to support more than 2,000 children, which is more than 10% of all K-8 students in this Archdiocese.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Don as chair of the board,” Houghton continued. “Don’s unwavering commitment and distinguished corporate leadership experiences will help us further our mission to ensure all children, regardless of background, can access the life-changing benefits of a Catholic education. His track record of igniting organization growth across the globe, developing top talent, and strengthening key relationships will be valuable assets as we continue to work to close the gap between those parents who can afford a Catholic and those that cannot.”
Mulligan recently retired as Chief Financial Officer of General Mills. Prior to joining General Mills, Mr. Mulligan held various leadership positions with Pillsbury, PepsiCo and YUM! Brands. He remains professionally active through board roles with three public companies—Tennant Company, Herbalife Nutrition, and Energizer Holdings.
A founding member of the Aim Higher Foundation Board of Directors, Mulligan has also held directorships at Catholic Charities of St. Paul and Minneapolis, University of Michigan Ross Business School, and Duke University Trinity College Board of Visitors.
“It is an honor to serve the Aim Higher Foundation as chair of the board,” Mulligan said. “The mission of this foundation addresses one of the most pressing needs within this community: ensuring all children have a chance at a great education. It is also a vital ministry for the Church, whose Catholic schools have shown time and time again, particularly through the pandemic, how integral they are in educating generations of children in faith and virtue.”
The Aim Higher Foundation is also pleased to announce the addition of new board members, Jeff Cachat, Joseph P. Donnelly, and Margaret Hank Requet.
