Back-to-School Celebration welcomes more than 300 guests!

As we enter the new school year, the Aim Higher Foundation is thrilled to be supporting a record number 2,550 scholars - more than 12% of all K-8 students in the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis!

On Sunday, August 18, the foundation hosted families from 40 different K-8 Catholic schools for the fourth annual Back-to-School Celebration at the Cathedral of Saint Paul.  Aim Higher Scholar families came from all directions (and up to 50 miles away) -- from New Prague to Forest Lake, and from St. Michael to Rosemount, all in celebration of Aim Higher's mission and its student scholars.  Yard games, group photos, reflections on the mission, and ice cream treats were enjoyed by all.

We're grateful for the support of the Cathedral of St. Paul's team for this annual event, especially the Rector, Father Joseph Johnson, the Business Administrator, Jim Gajewski, and Administrative Assistant, Sue Kruchten. Thank you as well to additional partners: 9 Yum Yum Ice Cream (ice cream treats), Michael Loonan (music and sound), and Ready Set Smile (providing information for children’s dental care).

A special shoutout to rising high school seniors, Graciela (Academy of Holy Angels) and Meryl (Visitation School and Convent), who volunteered their time all summer and organized the annual Backpack and School Supply Giveaway for our guests. In service, these two exemplary young women helped dozens of younger students have what they need for the school year.
