With great pleasure, the Aim Higher Foundation announces the appointment of Mrs. Julie Hurley to its Board of Directors. Julie brings a unique lens to the philanthropic landscape in the Twin Cities area, a wealth of financial and auditing expertise, nonprofit leadership experience, and a passion for the Aim Higher Foundation mission.
Julie started her auditing career in 1977 with Arthur Andersen & Co, transitioning to KPMG Peat Marwick where she served as Senior Manager in Audit. In the years following, she served as a Corporate Financial Consultant, focused in St. Paul. In 1996, Julie and her husband, Tom, founded Preferred Management Services Inc. (PMSI) property management company, providing affordable, safe, and quality housing for low to moderate income families. In 2017, Julie and Tom were awarded the Archdiocesan Leading With Faith award, recognizing the sincere compassion and commitment they demonstrated for their residents, staff, and vendors.
Julie’s extensive community involvement typically finds her in leadership positions. Julie currently serves the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis as a member of the Archdiocesan Finance Council and Corporate Board. For ten years, she served on the Board of Directors of the Catholic Community Foundation of Minnesota where she held the position of Vice Chair and served on the Executive, Finance, and Development Committees. Julie is a former board member of the Catholic Finance Corporation and school board chairperson and chairperson of two capital campaigns for the school and parish community of St. Joseph. Julie and her husband, Tom, have been active members of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem since 2011.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Julie to the Board of Directors at the Aim Higher Foundation,” shares Ricky Austin, President. “Julie’s genuine compassion for the underserved and her sincere desire to give all a hand up is a great match for Aim Higher’s mission. Her financial background and lay leadership experience at the Archdiocesan level will be invaluable as we strive to meet the needs of all families who desire life-transforming benefits of Catholic education. Julie offers the right heart and the right skill set for our next chapter. We are thrilled she has joined our mission.”
