The Summit in Sight: Our Highest Peak Yet
February 26, 2025Third Annual Check Delivery Marathon
On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the Aim Higher Foundation hosted its third annual Check Delivery Marathon. During this one-day scholarship check distribution event, benefactors, board members, and management came together to simultaneously deliver scholarship checks to Catholic schools that serve K-8 across the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. In total, 55 schools received visitors during this special marathon of support.
Aim Higher Foundation president, Ricky Austin reflects on the event, “Our Check Delivery Marathon has become a much-anticipated event for our mission. It is an opportunity for our supporters to see firsthand the impact of their investment in Catholic schools and the students they serve. The experience leaves a lasting impression—and for many, it inspires them to continue supporting us year after year. We are so grateful to Bishop Kenney, Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese, and Jean Houghton, Director of Mission Advancement, for joining us for this event and being vocal advocates for our work. The funding provided by donors to the Archdiocese’s Catholic Services Appeal (CSA) is supporting 400 of this year’s 2,550 scholars.”
Leaders of the Catholic schools were equally as excited for this annual event that demonstrates the broader community’s support for families who are striving to give their children access to the life-transforming benefits of Catholic education. Terese Shimshock, principal of Saint Peter Claver Catholic School shares, “For urban schools such as ours, the Aim Higher Foundation is truly a gift that cannot be accounted for in mere numbers. Through Aim Higher, our students can receive an education that goes above and beyond a traditional education. We can prepare them as the future leaders we know they are. We are grateful for the opportunity to thank benefactors of the Aim Higher Foundation for making these experiences available to our students.”
