Tending to the Light Within
September 18, 2025TCB’s 2025 Notable Nonprofit Board Member Sarah Schumacher
Sarah Schumacher has been named one of Twin Cities Business Magazine’s Notable Nonprofit Board Members of 2025!
The Aim Higher Foundation is thrilled to see Sarah recognized with this honor, and we invite you to join us in celebrating Sarah’s contributions.
The organization’s impact has expanded directly thanks to Sarah’s laser focus and financial expertise. She was instrumental in propelling extraordinary growth from Aim Higher as we supporting 500 scholars in early years to 2,900 this school year. With her help, Aim Higher has met high standards and attracted top talent to our management team and board while bringing hundreds of new supporters to the foundation.
Fellow founding board member and former CFO of General Mills, Don Mulligan, reflects on Sarah’s contributions: “It’s been an honor to serve with Sarah. Her impact on Aim Higher is wide-ranging and long-lasting, from our early days when Sarah essentially served as our CFO to more recently when, as Board Chair, she oversaw a successful capital campaign, numerous governance improvements and significant growth in our donor base. It’s not an over-statement to say that Aim Higher would not be the organization it is today – and our scholars would not have the opportunities they do – without her leadership.”
Schumacher dedicates her time to raising four boys and previously served in various finance roles with Best Buy.
