The Aim Higher Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Selena Rodriguez as the Office Manager and Executive Assistant. Selena will play a fundamental role in advancing the Aim Higher Foundation’s mission by supporting the President, serving as a liaison for the Board of Directors, and overseeing office operations.
“It is a privilege to announce Selena as the Aim Higher Foundation’s newest team member,” said Ricky Austin, President of the St. Paul-based foundation. “Selena brings an immediately apparent passion for the mission to make Catholic schools more accessible, and I know I speak on behalf of our team and our board when I say that we are thrilled to work closely with her as we continue to grow our mission.”
Having attended St. Pascal Baylon School from K-8, Selena says her family intentionally prioritized Catholic education, which she credits for her strong academic and faith formation.
“I am thrilled to be a part of this mission,” she said. “The chance to assist families and children who seek the type of education I received feels like an expression of gratitude for all the opportunities I was given. Catholic education has set me up for success and positively shaped me into the individual I am today.”
Selena graduated from St. Olaf College in 2023. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, double-majoring in Political Science and Race and Ethnic Studies, and double-minoring in International Relations and Latin Studies. She also held internships in human resources at Allianz Life, social media marketing at SHRPA, and housing equality initiatives at WSCO.
Selena has a strong passion for providing educational access to all individuals, evident through her work in co-founding a unique program at St. Olaf College called Ole Athlete Connect. The program aims to allow a greater breadth of students from inner-city high schools to access higher education and athletics. Selena collaborated with athletic directors, coaches, and admissions personnel to implement more equitable athletic recruiting tactics. Working on this project fueled an intense inclination to continue the work in educational accessibility.
Selena proudly resides in East St. Paul with her family and dog, Cielo. Outside of the office, she enjoys being active, playing and coaching volleyball, and gathering with friends and family.
