At the Aim Higher Foundation, we don’t have to imagine. The world we’re talking about is the world we are actively building. We see Catholic schools across the Twin Cities and the country creating educational experiences like those above. The 12th annual Night of Light Celebration is one, meaningful (and dare I say, timely) chance to help us turn these sorts of dreams into reality.

Yes, it’s a gala. And yes, we know galas are a healthy mix of party and purpose. We know they come with good food, great company, and, hopefully, a not-too-long, but just long-enough, program that helps us better understand and relate to the stories of those we seek to serve.

But the Night of Light is also about bringing people together so that we can imagine something better for more children. It’s in the name. In many ways, the Night of Light is a beacon of hope–of light–for children whose futures sometimes hang in the balance.

If nothing else, the Night of Light is an opportunity for us to stand up in front of 600 of our closest friends and speak the problem we all face loud and clear: too many children are prevented from life-changing opportunities because financial barriers block their way. And in the face of that problem, we see hope.
