Jane McDonald Black
Scholarship Committee Member; Executive Director for JAB Foundation
Jane McDonald Black is the Executive Director for the JAB Foundation and founding member of the Minnesota Hunt Literacy Path Forward team. With 30 years of nonprofit leadership experience in education and social services, Black currently serves on the Board for the BARR Center (founding Board Member), EdAllies Minnesota, Northside Achievement Zone, Dougherty Family College, Great Minnesota Schools Advisory Council and the education committee of AIM Higher Foundation. She is also the former Board Chair of Catholic Charities of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. McDonald Black is committed to improving literacy instruction so every child in Minnesota has the opportunity to read. Minnesota has among the lowest reading scores in the nation for students of color, and white students also fall below the (much too low) national average. Grateful for her four sons’ Catholic education and strong commitment to Catholic Social Teaching principles, she is proud to learn from, and serve the Aim Higher Foundation.
